Based in Peasmarsh Wealden Wild Floral Design, where floral art has an environmental heart!
Our goal is to create bespoke, elegant, natural and foam free designs using sustainable/ compostable elements and products, including kraft and tissue paper, cardboard, cellophane/ tape, twine, ribbon, willow and straw wreath rings rather than wire. We avoid single use plastics generally and even our flower food sachets are compostable!
We use seasonal blooms, botanicals and foliage sourced from local and British suppliers including Flowers From the Farm. This maximises the quality and longevity of the blooms, reduces carbon emissions and helps to support other small businesses.
However, given the British climate, it would be impossible not to import some flowers from time to time. To offset this, we make a charitable contribution each month to carbon emissions and plant trees. We also run a paperless office and re-use, recycle and repurpose whatever packaging we can.
We are constantly striving to improve our sustainability, reduce our carbon footprint and to become as eco-friendly as possible whilst providing individual quality floral designs for those who have a like-minded ethos.
We hold relaxed wreath and flower workshops throughout the year in the Rye area covering a variety of themes and styles using local suppliers. We provide the necessary materials and tools, so all you need to bring is your creativity and enthusiasm! See https://wealdenwildfloraldesign.co.uk/flower-workshop-rye
